Boil water advisory issued for many Pittsburgh neighborhoods


A boil water advisory has been issued for approximately 100,000 Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority customers in two dozen city neighborhoods.

According to a PWSA statement, the order is a precautionary measure based on the results of recent disinfection and chlorine testing of water at the Highland Park Reservoir.

Below is a list of areas included in the boil water advisory. Most are in the central and eastern sections of the city.

  • Highland Park
  • Hill District
  • Homewood
  • Larimer
  • Lawrenceville

  • Morningside
  • Oakland
  • Point Breeze
  • Polish Hill
  • Regent Square
  • Shadyside
  • Stanton Heights
  • Squirrel Hill
  • Swisshelm Park
  • Terrace Village
